First public arwork about the EU Charter of Fundamental Rigts in the UK!
In september 2009, the Association Inscrire has worked with schools creating a great new murals about the European Charter of Fundamental Rights
The workshop took place at the Wedgwood Institute with 3 schools : Sir Thomas Boughey, Brownshill High School and Forsbrook C.E. Primary school in Buslem. The students were from 12 to 18 years old. Every day explanatory sessions about the EU construction and the Charter were organized by the artists Françoise and Katia. They explained the 6 main thematics of the Charter with the 50 articles which were imagined as life situation by the students. The courses were adapted to each ages group. After each session, the youngsters were invited by the artists to represent their chosen article of the Charter onto ceramics. In four days they all understood the general meaning of the chapters of the Charter and acquired a knowledge of their articles and the ones of their peers.
The final panel will be installed on a wall of the city after the British Ceramic Bienale will have taken place.
