The “Sharing Connection” exhibition, born in the convivial atmosphere of the canteen of the National Bank of Belgium, was the result of collaboration between the artist Françoise Schein and 155 employees.

Through a series of workshops, these employees reinterpreted works from the bank’s contemporary art collection using specially designed ceramic trays.

Presented in the bank’s hall, the exhibition offers a new perspective on this collection and the history of currency through museum objects. The painted trays are displayed alongside the works that inspired them, highlighting each artist’s individual approach. The title “1001 Plates” evokes both the philosophy of Gilles Deleuze and the shared experience in the canteen.

At the end of the exhibition, a symbolic installation, “Something of Value” by Fred Eerdekens, will be integrated into the bank’s art collection, strengthening the connection between employees and their artistic heritage.
