The A4Arts Museum is dedicated to exhibiting contemporary artists. In 2019, the head of the A4 Museum came to Belgium and discovered our public and permanent installation “The Great Banquet of Françoise Schein” installed on the Place Sainte Catherine. The A4Museum directors decided to commission a similar participatory artwork for the city of Chengdu.

Due to COVID, the entire process had to be delayed. Meanwhile, the artist collected images with contextual geographic and historical information that will nourish the project once produced. The A4Art Museum has already chosen a location to install the Banquet in a nearby building garden and courtyard. The city of Chengdu is an ecologically oriented region with great respect for nature and the local water system of lakes and rivers. The theme of the Banquet will surely be about the long chinese Yang Tze river and the images of objects and people of Chengdu in the Sichuan region.
